A Davenport man is pleading not guilty to charges filed in the death of his girlfriend in January. Thirty-six year old Eric Olsen entered the pleas to charges of second-degree murder, voluntary and involuntary manslaughter, homicide by motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

He is accused in the January 17 death of 38-year-old Wanda Weldy, whose body was found in the middle of a northwest Davenport street. Weldy and Olsen had lived together and she had received a protection order against him a week before she died of blunt-force trauma. Olsen is in Scott County jail, in lieu of $500,000 bail.

He’ll be in court again April 22nd.
