One man is dead after an accident in northwest Iowa Friday morning. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reports that shortly before 10 A.M., 33-year-old Scott Douglas Baumgard of Arnolds Park was driving a 2008 Ford F350 pickup westbound on Highway 9.
Thirty-eight-year-old Kevin D. Lankford of Macomb, Illinois was driving a 2010 International semi truck northbound on Highway 59. Lankford failed to yield from a stop sign and pulled into the path of the Baumgard vehicle. The Baumgard pickup struck the trailer of the semi. Baumgard was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is still under investigation.
