Authorities in western Iowa say a Perry man faces a trio of charges in connection with the 2009 death of a Bagley man. The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office says 29-year-old Thomas Anthony Dugan was arrested last Friday on a Guthrie County warrant charging him with vehicular homicide/OWI, homicide by vehicle and OWI third offense.

Dugan and Adam Anderson, of Bagley, were traveling in Anderson’s 2003 Ford Mustang on August 23rd, 2009, when the car went out of control at around 6:30 AM on a gravel road east of Yale. The vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest on its top in a soybean field.

Both men were ejected from the car as it rolled end-over-end. Anderson, who was 28-years-old, died at the scene. The Iowa State Patrol and Guthrie County Sheriff’s Department investigated the crash. At the time, authorities were not able to immediately determine which man was driving.

Officials could only say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash. Dugan posted a $25,000 bond Monday, and was released from custody. He’s scheduled to be arraigned on the charges March 28th.
