Eagle Grove man’s murder trial gets underway today

April 4, 2011 By Radio Iowa Contributor

The trial of the Eagle Grove man accused in the murder of 19-year-old Devin Resh of Webster City is set to begin today. Twenty-one-year-old Lucas Faulkner is accused of first-degree murder in the incident that happened on May 18th of last year.

The body of Resh was discovered on May 20th on private property near Eagle Grove. Faulkner allegedly struck Resh in the head with a hatchet. The trial is taking place in Bremer County District Court in Waverly after being moved from Wright County to ensure Faulkner receives a fair trial.

A selection of a jury will continue through the day with the prosecution to present evidence tomorrow.
