A weekend car crash in eastern Iowa claimed two lives. Two young people from Maquoketa were killed in a crash early Saturday morning in Jackson County just west of town.
The sheriff says the driver was trying to pass another car on a curve when he lost control and the car went off the road and rolled in a field, killing 20-year-old Tanner Schreiber and 17-year-old Brittney Green. Both victims were ejected from the car.
