Davenport man charged with stealing doughnut truck in Florida

April 5, 2011 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A Davenport man who says he was tired of walking is charged with stealing a doughnut truck in Florida. Twenty-year-old Randall Travis Roberts was arrested Thursday. Ocala police say Roberts stole a truck filled with 388 boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Officers say he told them he was tired of walking and wanted to sleep.

Police say they also found 10 grams of marijuana in a plastic bag in the truck, but Roberts says the weed isn’t his. Roberts is charged with grand theft auto and marijuana possession. He’s being held in jail on $10,500 bond. His next court date is May 3rd. It’s not known if he helped himself to any of the doughnuts.
