Flavor Flav restaurant opens with some concerns

April 5, 2011 By Radio Iowa Contributor

The Clinton restaurant opened by nationally-known reality TV star and former rapper holds its grand opening this week, but there could be trouble for the owner-operator. Various broadcast and published accounts have reported employees complaining about paychecks bouncing and related issues.

Flavor Flav and his local manager say early operational glitches have been fixed and everything is fine. The chicken restaurant, known as FFC, opened in late January. Flav hopes to franchise the restaurant and is looking for those opportunities.

As part of coming to Clinton, Flav sought to start a reality show of himself going back to high school to get his diploma but local and area school declined to participate. In those reports, he now hopes to make his restaurant the basis for a reality show.

As part of his local status, Flavor Flav is scheduled to throw out the first pitch on Friday at the Lumberkings minor league baseball game in Clinton.
