Boone County deputy injured in crash

April 6, 2011 By Matt Kelley

A central Iowa law enforcement officer is recovering from injuries he sustained in a crash following a high-speed chase. Boone County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Godzicki is said to be “very sore,” but is out of the hospital.

Godzicki was following a speeding motorist on Highway 30 Tuesday morning when he lost control of his cruiser while trying to avoid slower traffic. His car went into a ditch and rolled several times. The motorist who was speeding got away.
