The Iowa Hawkeye baseball team opens a weekend Big Ten series at Illinois on Friday night. The Hawkeyes have won two straight and have scored 33 runs in their last two games. Senior infielder Zach McCool says they hope to maintain the momentum.

McCool says you have to go out and playing the game and keep hitting. He says if they keep hitting, then they will continue to win.

The Hawkeyes are coming off a 14-1 victory over Coe College on Wednesday night.

Coach Jack Dahm says it was a good solid effort and they had a patience approach at the plate. Both teams are 1-2 in the Big Ten. The Hawks opened the league race by dropping two of three games to Michigan State.
