The parking lot near the Iowa State Capitol will be full of basketball players on May seventh when the Iowa Sports Foundation hosts an annual 3-on-3 tournament.

Kim Abels of the Iowa Sports Foundation who says Hoopin’ at The Dome is not your normal basketball tournament at it is played in the state capitol parking lot on 10 courts outdoors. Abels says the atmosphere is unique and last year they had some 300 teams participate.

Abels says the tournament draws teams from across the state and says they travel from Dyersville and Sioux City on both sides of the state.

Abels says there are adult divisions as well as those for kids starting at 4th grade and going up to the 12th grade division.

Abel says cost of the tournament is $60 per team if they register by April 20th and $80 for teams that register after that.
