West Des Moines Police are looking for a “scruffy looking” young man in connection with last Friday’s shooting death of a real estate agent. Twenty-seven-year-old Ashley Okland died at a hospital after she was found with two gunshot wounds at a model home she was showing in West Des Moines.

Police still have more questions than answers in the case and no suspects. Investigators are not commenting on a possible motive in the shooting. An email sent to Des Moines area real estate agents Monday indicated police are looking for a “scruffy looking” young man who drives a black SUV which may have “tricked out” wheels.

The man was seen talking to Okland on Friday and on previous occasions at the model home. Police are not calling the man a suspect. Instead, they believe he may be a real estate agent who others might be able to identify. The reward for information leading to an arrest in the case has grown to $11,500.
