The Iowa football team closes out spring drills with a practice in Kinnick Stadium. Unlike many other programs the Hawkeyes don’t conduct a game to end the spring.

Iowa offensive coordinator Ken O’Keefe says the game is another practice, as he says they have to work on a lot of things that they need work on. He says it will be good for the players to perform in front of a crowd, which is the value of the game, as the guys will have to listen to what’s going on in the huddle.

Iowa defensive coordinator Norm Parker talks about the goals he has for the defense. He says the number one thing he hopes for is that nobody gets hurt and that they will go out and play hard. Parker says they will make mistakes, that always happens, but he wants them to play hard and hopes no one gets hurt.

There are a lot of new faces on defense and Parker wants that unit to end spring with a good effort. He says it is a fun group to coach.
