Alden teen dies in accident

May 4, 2011 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A 17-year-old from Alden died Tuesday in a two-vehicle accident in Hardin County at the intersection of two county gravel roads. The Iowa State Patrol identified the victim as Victoria Westfall. Reportedly an eastbound 1991 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Westfall was entering an uncontrolled intersection when her car was struck in the driver’s side by a southbound 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by Marlo White also of Alden.

Westfall was flown by air ambulance to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City where she died of her injuries. White was taken to Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls for treatment of his injuries. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
