Luther hosts conference softball tourney

May 5, 2011 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Luther College hosts the Iowa Conference softball tournament beginning Thursday in Decorah. The top seeded Norse have averaged seven runs per game the past two weeks.

Luther coach Renae Hartl says they have been hitting a lot in practice and feeling good at the plate. The Norse open Thursday afternoon against the winner of the game between Simpson and Loras. She says it is great to host and they will miss less class by hosting and be in a good position for post season.

With three of the six teams in the field ranked in the nation’s top ten Hartl feels it will be an entertaining tournament.

Central is seeded second. The Dutch open against the winner of the game between Coe and Cornell.
