Mason City man faces several charges after hit-and-run

May 9, 2011 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A Mason City man is jailed after a hit-and-run accident last week. Fifty-four-year-old Randy Arispe was arrested and taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail, where he was charged with serious domestic assault resulting in injury, willful injury, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, operating without the owner’s consent and driving under suspension.

Arispe is also wanted for vehicle theft in the state of Minnesota. Arispe’s arrest follows an incident late Thursday night that police were called to in the 800 block of South Pennsylvania. Police accuse Arispe of striking 23-year-old Randin Johnson with a 2005 Chevy Impala and then leaving the scene.

Johnson was transported by a private party to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. Arispe is due to make a court appearance on Friday morning in Cerro Gordo County District Court.
