A former Dubuque elementary school principal entered a not guilty plea today to child pornography charges. Robert Burke was arrested on June 3 after authorities raided his home in Dubuque. Federal prosecutors say the 43-year-old Burke admitted that he hid a video camera in the boys bathroom at Sageville Elementary School to capture images of students.

He allegedly used the material to produce and distribute child pornography. Burke was fired as principal of the school the day after his arrest. His trial is scheduled to begin August 8. If convicted, Burke could face anywhere from 15 to 110 years in prison and up to $1.75 million in fines.
