A caretaker of wild animals is clinging to life after being mauled. A tiger attack has left the owner of a small eastern Iowa zoo hospitalized.

Fifty-two-year-old Tom Sellner was attacked while feeding an adult tiger at the Cricket Hollow Zoo west of Manchester Sunday morning.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says Sellner suffered lacerations to his head and torso. He was airlifted to University Hospitals in Iowa City, where his condition is not known at this time.
