Ames man dies in Jasper County accident

July 21, 2011 By Matt Kelley

One person died in a two vehicle crash in central Iowa Wednesday. The crash happened just after 4 p.m. at the intersection of Jasper County road F-17 and Highway 330. A state patrol report indicates a car driven by 54-year-old Bill Robertson of Ames pulled out from a yield sign and was struck by an oncoming SUV.

Robertson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car as it rolled. He died at the scene. The driver of the SUV, 22-year-old Lu Reh of Des Moines, was injured and taken to a Des Moines hospital.
