A report of shots fired late Saturday night led to a police shooting in Davenport. The man shot is hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, and his name has not yet been released. He was the driver of a car believed to have been involved in shots fired across the street from the Mississippi Valley Fair.

Police stopped his car a little before midnight Saturday at the foot of bridge across the Mississippi River, but the driver rammed the squad cars that were blocking him, and three officers opened fire. Three other occupants of the car were unhurt and taken in for questioning.

The officers are on paid administrative leave pending an investigation of the incident by an outside agency.
