Romney video features Iowans critical of Obama economic policies

August 16, 2011 By Dar Danielson

Republican frontrunner, Mitt Romney released a video today that attacks President Barack Obama as the president visits the northeast Iowa town of Peosta. The video, called “Welcome to Peosta, President Obama,” features residents like Mike Nelson and Rex Hanson, who’re questioned about Obama’s handling of the economy.

Nelson is asked if things are better or worse than two years ago and he says “Oh, much worse. Much worse. I just think Obama needs to learn how to lead.” Hanson says he is frustrated with congress in general and the president. The video cites a report that consumer confidence has dropped to a three decade low, and then quotes other northeast Iowa residents like Elizabeth Murphy of Springville on the economy.

“In my opinion, they got worse,” Murphy says. ” You know, and he’s promised all these jobs to people. We’re not getting out of that.” Hanson is show again saying, “It’s not just jobs but it’s a lot of things with our country that are going in the wrong direction. I’m disappointed with where things are going.”

The video ends up with a montage of people welcoming the president. Romney released a similar video prior to Obama’s visit to Minnesota. You can see the entire video here: mi.tt/mTKbNr.
