Nine-year-old dies in northeast Iowa ATV accident

An ATV accident claimed the life of child in northeast Iowa Sunday. The accident happened around noon about five miles southeast of New Hartford.

The Grundy County Sheriff’s office reports 9-year-old Tate Johnson of Dike lost control of the all-terrain vehicle while driving through weeds next to a field.

The ATV rolled on top of the child. The accident remains under investigation.
