A former substitute teacher and coach in central Iowa was sentenced to probation Monday on a sexual exploitation charge. Thirty-three-year-old Chad Ziesman of Urbandale was charged in early June after a 14-year-old girl told Urbandale school staff she had received inappropriate texts and emails from Ziesman.

He pleaded guilty to the sexual exploitation charge and received a 10 year suspended sentence, two years years probation and a $1,000 fine. Ziesman must also enter a community-based sex offender treatment program and his name will be added to the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.

Polk County District Judge Glenn Pille said he was “appalled” with the case and told Ziesman “it turned my stomach when I read the things you did.”
