ISU coach credits defense for 3-0 start

September 21, 2011 By Todd Kimm

Iowa State coach Paul Rhoads says the defense deserves much of the credit for their quick start. The Cyclones are off to a 3-0 start despite the offense committing 10 turnovers in the first three games.

Rhoads says the defense has been sound and they seem to have a good feel for what they are capable of and haven’t tried to do too much.

Rhoads says the Cyclone defense is not giving up big plays and that allows you to stay in games. The Cyclones have this week off and open Big 12 play at home on October first against Texas.
