Cedar Rapids police looking for man after stabbing

September 22, 2011 By O. Kay Henderson

A Cedar Rapids man was rushed into surgery early this morning after being stabbed and police don’t yet have a suspect in custody. Cedar Rapids police found 32-year-old Stephen Allen in an apartment building, seriously injured. According to the police report, Allen “had been stabbed several times in the abdomen.”

Police say Allen went to the building to visit a friend, but he apparently was involved in some sort of disturbance in a hallway and was stabbed. Cedar Rapids police are searching for a black man with a shaved head, but they don’t describe him as a suspect.

Police got the call about this incident at about 3:30 a.m. Allen was taken to a Cedar Rapids hospital and his injuries are described as very serious.
