Woman now charged in death of baby in Fort Dodge

September 23, 2011 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Charges are now filed in connection with this week’s death of a newborn in north-central Iowa. The woman accused in Tuesday’s death of a newborn baby in Fort Dodge, made her initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate’s Court Thursday afternoon.

Thirty-one-year-old Hillary Tyler of Mulhall, Oklahoma, is facing a charge of one count of first-degree murder. Fort Dodge Police were called to the Super 8 Motel on Tuesday where authorities discovered the dead newborn. Tyler was assigned a public defender with a cash bond of one million dollars.

Tyler is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Webster County Court on Thursday, September 29th.
