William Penn plays its biggest game in years when the Statesmen visit St. Francis of Illinois in a Mid-States Midwest League showdown. Ranked fourth nationally in NAIA Penn is off to a 4-0 start and goes up against a 16th ranked St. Francis team that is also unbeaten in the league race in three starts.

Penn coach Todd Hafner says they are good on defense and may be the most explosive team they’ve seen on offense. He says his team is ready for a game like this, as it has been a long time coming.

Penn’s option attack is rolling up big numbers again this season and the defense is giving up a little more than seven points per game. He says it starts up front with the front four putting pressure on the other team.
