Iowa City man charged with child endangerment

October 10, 2011 By Matt Kelley

An Iowa City man was jailed this weekend after police say he drove drunk with two minor children in his car. Police records show 49-year-old Keith Patton was initially pulled over for speeding near his home on Lakeside Drive late Saturday afternoon.

Officers said Patton had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. He failed sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of .160 – two times the legal limit. Two girls, ages 10 and 12, were in the vehicle at the time. They were not injured.

Patton was taken to the Johnson County Jail and charged with O.W.I. and child endangerment.
