Webster City man dies in accident

October 22, 2011 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A one car accident shortly before seven Friday night killed a Webster City man. The Iowa State Patrol identified the victim as 27-year-old A.J. Hanson.

He was the passenger in a 2003 Ford Mustang operated by Gabriel Lee Hanson of Ames. The accident happened northeast of Stratford in southwest Hamilton County at the junction of two county roads. Reportedly the car driven by Gabriel Hanson was traveling northbound when the car went through the intersection without stopping, losing control and went into the ditch.

The car then rolled, striking a tree and came to rest upside down. A.J. Hanson was pronounced dead at the accident scene. Gabriel Hanson was transported to Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City by Stratford Ambulance for treatment of injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
