November 18, 2011 By O. Kay Henderson

A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to two decades in prison for selling heroin to man who died of an overdose. Marcus Andrew Burrage of Ames was convicted of selling heroin to an undercover agent in November of 2009 and for selling heroin to another man in April of 2010.

That transaction happened in a grocery store parking lot in Ames. The man who bought the heroin, 32-year-old Joshua Banka of Nevada, died of an overdose a day later. Burrage was convicted by a jury in June. Yesterday, a judge sentenced Burrage to 20 years in prison.
