Cresco man hit by car

A northeastern Iowa man was hit by a vehicle and dragged for two blocks. The Iowa State Patrol says 56-year-old Anne Ott of Cresco was backing out of a driveway at about 6:45 Monday evening when she struck 77-year-old Donald Shields of Cresco as he was walking past.

Ott’s vehicle then drug Shields for two blocks before he came free of the car. He was flown to a Rochester hospital for treatment. The accident remains under investigation.
