A truck driver who’s been missing since Friday was found dead in his still-running semi last night in southwest Iowa. Sergeant Dwayne Riche, of the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Department, says a Burlington-based trucking firm had put out the word that 58-year old Terry Ross, of Monmouth, Illinois, wasn’t responding to calls.

“They had put out an ‘attempt to locate’ for this gentleman driving a truck for Liberty Transport and he explained that the tractor was white, the trailer was white,” Richie says. “They had done a ping and that the ping was in our county, up close near the interstate.”

The snow-covered semi was found at an Interstate 80 rest stop that’s under construction near Minden. Riche says the cause of death is under investigation, but foul play is not suspected.
