December 12, 2011 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A Clear Lake man who fell from an ice boat and through the ice at Clear Lake escaped without serious injury. The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office says 61-year-old James Anastasi was able to pull himself out of the water and onto an ice shelf.

The incident happened shortly before noon Sunday near the Clear Lake Sea Wall. Anastasi was using the ice boat when it hit a hole near the lake’s east aerator. Deputy Lewis Bram says Anastasi was seen by paramedics at the scene and was released.
