A former Italian restaurant building caught fire overnight in Marshalltown. Marshalltown Fire Chief Steve Edwards says the fire was fully engaged when firefighters arrived just before midnight, as flames were already coming through the building’s roof.
The fire was brought under control after about 90 minutes but the building is expected to be a total loss. Electro Motive was using the main floor of the building for storage, with Rally Antiques using the second floor for storage.
No cause of the fire has been determined.
