State investigating death of twins in Huxley

January 9, 2012 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Authorities in the central Iowa town of Huxley are investigating the weekend death of newborn twins. On Saturday, Huxley Police received a phone call in reference to a welfare check on a 22-year-old female who had given birth to twins at her apartment.

The twins did not survive. The female was taken to a local hospital. Autopsies will be conducted today at the State Medical Examiner’s Office. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting the Huxley Police Department in the investigation.
