An autopsy is planned on the remains of a southeast Iowa man who had been missing a little over two weeks. The body of a 62-year-old Lockridge man was found Thursday near his home.

Duane Hinkle was found by members of a search party northeast of his home upstream along the edge of a creek. Hinkle was last seen on January 10th and the last time anyone heard from him was a voice mail during the morning of January 11th.

Officials say Hinkle failed to show up for a meeting with his cousin who reported Hinkle to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. Thursday morning, almost 100 people took part in a foot search for the Lockridge man.

The sheriff’s department confirmed that the body was found and said an investigation continues.
