The Iowa State Patrol says a north-central Iowa teen killed in a crash back in November was texting while driving.

Iowa State Patrol investigators say they checked with the cell phone provider for 17-year-old Allison Smith and compared its records against video from the school bus that she rear-ended back on the afternoon of November 1st, determining that she was texting at the time of the accident.

The accident happened as the school bus was stopped along U.S. Highway 218 about three miles east of St. Ansgar. No other injuries were reported.
