Deere & Company is announcing plans to expand its operation in Waterloo.

The Quad Cities-based agricultural manufacturer says it will spend $70-million to expand the Waterloo plant’s manufacturing capacity by 10%.

The Waterloo facility builds large tractors that are shipped to more than 130 countries around the world.

Improvements in Waterloo have boosted the plant’s operations by more than 50% in the past decade.

About 6,000 people are employed at John Deere’s Waterloo operations. This expansion will not create any new jobs.
