Iowa City West advances to the 4A title game

Iowa City West made 17 of 23 shots in the second half and roared away to a 64-50 victory over Waukke to earn a spot in the 4A championship game of the girls state basketball tournament. Waukee held the Women of Troy to 24% shooting in the opening half and led 22-15 at the break.

West took command in the third quarter by outscoring the Warriors 26-10. Junior guard Ally Disterhoft led West with 18 points.

 The Women of Troy head back to the title game after falling to Des Moines East a year ago. Brittany Boland led Waukee with 16 points. The Warriors end the season with a record of 20-6.
