Blue Grass man charged in fatal overdose case

March 8, 2012 By Radio Iowa Contributor

An eastern Iowa man has been charged in an overdose death. Twenty-three-year-old Trevor Carter of rural Blue Glass is accused of giving drugs to another man, 24-year-old Jonathan Bahnsen, who died at a house near Blue Grass last October.

At the time, Davenport police were investigating a pharmacy burglary, where a large amount of prescription drugs were stolen. The Scott County Sheriff’s Office says Bahnsen overdosed on those drugs.

Deputies arrested Carter Wednesday. He is charged with involuntary manslaughter and three drug charges. He’s in the Scott County Jail.
