One and done for Iowa State at the Big-12 Tournament in Kansas city. the Cyclones squandered an 11 point second half lead in a 71-65 loss to Texas. The Cyclones appeared to be cruising to the victory early in the second half.

I.S.U. coach Fred Hoiberg said, “They outscored us by 19 points over an 9 minute stretch from the 18 minute mark to the 9 minute mark, and that was the game.” He says they missed shots and dropped their head and reverted back to some things they hadn’t been doing.

The game was played in front of a partisan Cyclone crowd. “It makes me sick to think we are not playing another game down here. But it is what it is and you learn from it and move on to the next one. And thankfully there is a next one,” Hoiberg said.

The Cyclones will find out Sunday night where they will go to play in the NCAA Tournament and who their first round opponent will be. Hoiberg says everyone who is a Cyclone fan should be proud of this team and what it has accomplished thus far. “Hopefully we’ll get a good draw and go out and play well next weekend,” Hoiberg said.
