Construction will begin soon in north-central Iowa on a project that supporters believe will attract a diverse audience. Jerry Clark is helping lead fundraising efforts for the Kossuth County Agriculture and Motorsports Museum in Algona.

He says the building, to be located on the Kossuth County Fairgrounds, will showcase the area’s agriculture history, racing memorabilia and include a large electric train display. “We just feel these three items will bring a large amount of people to Kossuth County and Algona,” Clark says.

He pitched the project earlier this month before the Vision Iowa Board in Des Moines. The project carries a price tag of $650,000.

Clark says his group has raised $527,000. They’ve requested a $75,000 grant from the Vision Iowa program. “We’re hoping to build it and have it ready for fair time this fall, so we’re going to start construction very shortly,” Clark said.
