A weekend shooting incident in central Iowa that involved several law officers is under investigation. On Saturday night at around 10:48 p.m. a Boone County deputy and two officers with the Boone Police Department went to 827 South Division Street in Boone to further investigate a previous incident.

Upon arriving at the residence officers spoke with two individuals. During their conversations, one man ran from the residence. The two Boone Police officers pursued the man through the yard.

The man then turned on officers and pointed a handgun at the officers. Officers then fired multiple rounds striking the man. He was then transported to the Boone County Hospital and later transported to Iowa Methodist Medical Center for further treatment. The two Boone police officers were not injured in the incident.

Both have been placed on administrative leave. The names of the officers involved and the man that was shot will be released sometime later today.
