Officials hope to open a temporary location today after fire damaged the Titonka Savings Bank in Titonka early Sunday morning. Bank officials say the bank’s vaults are still intact so items in the safety deposit boxes remain secure. Bank officials have security on the fire scene until the bank is able to gain access to and remove the safety deposit boxes.

Bank president and C.E.O. Allan Boyken in a written statement says they appreciate everyone’s thoughts, prayers and concern as they deal with the fire. They are thankful that they have only sustained property damage which all can be and will be replaced, adding that firefighters were able to save the southern-most portion of the bank.

Firefighters from Burt, Woden and Algona assisted the Titonka Fire Department in battling the blaze.
