A weekend death near Iowa State University is under investigation. Police in Ames have not released the name of the man who died early Saturday morning after a fall from an apartment balcony at 2519 Chamberlain Street in the Campustown section of the city.

Officers were called to the scene at around two o’clock after the man had fallen four stories. Police said the man was visitor to the city for the VEISHEA celebration that wrapped up on Sunday.

The man was taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead of his injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
