The Grand View College baseball team is playing its best at the right time and the Vikings will travel to Pducah, Kentucky this week for the start of the NAIA National tournament. The Vikings are 27-27 on the season but coach Lou Yacanich’s team has won seven of its last eight after winning the Midwest Collegiate Conference tournament.

He says consistency in the defense and the offense coming alive helped and he says whenever you put the defense and offense together you end up winning. The Vikings are seeded fifth in the five team field for the opening round and Yacanich says there will be strong competition.

He says it starts with the top rated team in the nation and he says the other teams are all solid. L.S.U.-Shreveport is the nations top ranked team. Grand View opens against Peru State of Nebraska on Thursday morning.
