Authorities in southwest Iowa are now releasing details of a wood chipper accident on Thursday that left a Council Bluffs woman badly hurt. Pottawattamie County Sheriff Jeff Danker says 46-year-old Angela Davis, an employee of Kathy’s Tree and Stump Removal Service in Council Bluffs, got caught in the machine.

Danker says, “She was trying to untangle a rope from a branch that got caught in the chipper and it ended up sucking her in.” She had severe cuts to her face and leg.

Davis was transported to Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha for treatment. No condition report was released but the injuries are said to be non life-threatening.
