Convicted child molester dies in prison

July 16, 2012 By O. Kay Henderson

A man convicted more than 20 years ago of molesting four children died in prison today. Robert Glenn Dicks was 71 years old. He had pancreatic cancer and was in the hospice program run by the state prison system when he died.

In 1990, Dicks was sentenced to 115 years in prison for sexually abusing his girlfriend’s boy and girl, a young niece and a one-year-old child. A judge found Dicks guilty of three counts of second-degree sexual abuse, one count of third-degree sexual abuse, one count of lascivious acts with a child and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Investigators say Dicks and his girlfriend took inappropriate photos of the children at their home in Monroe County
