Sioux City police quickly recognize bank robbery suspect

July 19, 2012 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A Sioux City woman has been arrested and charged with threatening to use a bomb in the robbery of a Sioux Falls, South Dakota bank. Authorities say 39-year-old Michelle Bock entered a First Premier Bank branch in Sioux Falls on Tuesday, claimed she had a bomb and demanded money.

She fled with cash. When Sioux City police saw surveillance pictures of the robbery, investigators immediately recognized the suspect and began efforts to locate here.

Bock eventually turned herself in at Sioux City police headquarters Wednesday. Bock was arrested on a federal warrant from the F.B.I. and transported back to Sioux Falls. Sioux Falls police are investigating whether Bock actually had a bomb.
