More information released on fatal Iowa City shooting involving state agents

August 17, 2012 By Dar Danielson

Police are offering a reward for information on a suspect in a fatal shooting overnight in Iowa City.

The Iowa Division of Criminal investigation says two State Division of Narcotics Enforcement agents assigned to the Johnson County Drug Task Force were conducting undercover operations at trailer in the Breckenridge Trailer Court near Iowa City in Johnson County.

The D.C.I. says an altercation occurred and two people were shots. Twenty-four-year-old Ivan Carl Hardemon died at the scene and 22-year-old Demarco Dudley was injured and treated at an area hospital. No officers were injured.

The D.C.I. is looking for 20-year-old Norman Dudley, who is believed to have dropped Demarco Dudley off at the trailer court prior to the shooting. They are also looking for 20-year-old John Mulbaugh, who is believed to have been in the vicinity of the shooting.

Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers  is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that would assist investigators in locating Norman Dudley and John Mulbah. Anyone with information is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS (8477).

Individuals providing information do not have to reveal their identity to collect a reward.
