Pomeroy man dies in accident

September 24, 2012 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A 29-year-old Pomeroy man died early Sunday morning as the result of a one-vehicle accident on Calhoun County Road D-11 west of Pomeroy. The Iowa State Patrol identified the victim as Nicholas C. Holtapp.

Reportedly a westbound 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Holtapp crossed the centerline and began to enter the south ditch. The truck then swerved back across the roadway and overturned in the north ditch. Holtapp was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
